Stength in Softness
Qi-Questrian incorporates Qigong fundementals into riding and horsemanship. Most riders will find that they have been relying on these fundementals on a natural or instinctive level, and the goal of this program is to bring awareness and intention to our instincts.
Riders will find softness and relaxation during their work with their horse, find more comfort in their bodies before and after rides and hone a keen understanding of their equine partner. Qigong can be practiced on the ground or in the saddle.
Qi-Questrian is the framework for the other equestrian martial arts applications taught in the Iron Orchid program, and all students will practice it in their regular lessons.
30 Day ChallEnge
Grounded Forms
These are traditional Qigong forms that are learned and practiced on the ground. These might include breathing exercises, meditations, or series of movements.
Ridden Forms
Once students establish an understanding of the grounded forms, they can be translated into the saddle. These are best started on the lunge line, with the goal of connecting horses and riders through breath and movement.
Practice
The greatest change comes through consistency and practice. The challenges are presented to help students develop habits and see results.
